vintage ** Opalescent Swirl CANDY BOWL with LID ** Reversing Swirl Glass DISH

Description

Here is an old original candy dish or bowl with lid (at least I think it is a candy dish but may actually be called something else).  This is a very attractive opalescent swirl; the swirls have a reversing pattern; it is also a graduated pattern in which the bottom has more white and going to the top there is less white and more clear.  I do not know the manufacturer of this pattern, perhaps Fenton ?  All I know is it is unusual and attractive, with opalescent pearly whites, blues, and clear glass.  NOTE:  The lid has an interesting embedded white crystalline inclusion which can be seen in photos near center of lid..  This is not damage but a remnant of the glass making process and I find it to be attractive in itself.  Bowl base measures ~ 4 1/4" high by 4" across; with lid measures ~ 6" high and 4" across.  Vintage used, bowl base is in nice condition, I did find one small chip on one of the lower white ribs but can see no other chips, cracks, etc.  Lid has some small chips on some of the fluted edges, otherwise no cracks etc.  This scarce item will make a nice addition to your collection or display.
