Lg. Silver Plate Steer Head Cap & Coat Hook Mounted on Hickory Barn Wood: India

Up for your consideration is a unique & unusual piece of Western Americana in the form of a cap & coat hook. Mounted on a hickory barn wood board is a silver plated steer head showing steer horns, eyes, nose, mouth, and neck all done in fine engraving by an engraver using a sharp set of engraving tools and then the steer is garnished with silver plate. Just below the neckline of the mounted steer is a long branch  with a deep curl near the end of it and a small ball at the very end of it. This long, curled branch with a ball on the end of it is used to hang a coat or a cap on it and most hooks & hangers, like the one in this listing, are located inside the house near a front or back entry way. Using a wall mounted hook & hanger like this one is a 'sure-fire' way to keep track of your coat & cap and have it handy when you leave the house for whatever reason. The hook & hanger is also great for hanging your dog's leash on it so you're ready when your dog is ready to go outside to do his business at two very critical times of the day like early morning and early evening.
This handsome steer's head, mounted on a hickory wood board, is perhaps the most singular piece of Western Americana you'll ever own. The American steer is perhaps the most notable symbol of the Western part of America as steers, cows, bulls, and heifers are commercially grown in farm fields or ranches where they may graze and eat grasses later to be slaughtered for the meat we as humans eat for our dinners. The American Western steer has been the subject of artist's, painter's & sketchers like Winslow Homer, photographer's like Ansel Adams, and many, many artist's of the Old American West.
The coat & cap/hook & hanger is brand new, never used, and has the original hang tag on it that reads the following: "Handcrafted" in handwriting and then: "BY ARTISANS IN INDIA" the country this item was made in. On the back of this item is a saw tooth hanger to hang and position this item on a wall, and there is a small sticker that also reads: "MADE IN INDIA."
The cap& coat/hook & hanger measures 8" long X 4" wide X 3/4" deep, and it is in
'mint
' condition and dates modern day.
