Available in the national market since 1962, Pitéu canned products are renowned for tuna and seafood delicacies. The brand is a long-standing classic for canned Tuna in Vegetable Oil and Tuna in Olive Oil, while its Specialties range comprises a total of 10 different types of seafood delicacies. The best of the ocean brought to the table, with typically Portuguese flavours such as codfish with olive oil and garlic, squid in tomato sauce, or jumbo squid with garlic.
Cofaco was born in 1961 in Vila Real de Santo António, Algarve (Southern Portugal). But with the scarcity of tuna in the Algarve, Cofaco relocated to the Azores archipelago, a privileged place for the passage of tuna on its migratory routes through the oceans, where it still concentrates all of its production.
