Description

Pads (peel & stick).
Plastic tweezers.
Swab.
Toothpicks.
A few free outer sleeves for cassette cases : )
With a toothpick, lift tape an inch.
If you find an old pad inside, remove it easily with a toothpick.
Grip folded swab with tweezers and wipe metal for best results (caution, swab can catch and break spring, go slow).
Peel off a pad, place it in tweezers and drop onto metal surface (go slow, they stick quick).
Tap pad down with a toothpick.

If your tape sounds bad, check the pressure pad.
It's purpose is to ensure that the tape makes a solid contact the the play head in the cassette player.
When the play head touches the tape to read the magnetic data,
the tape is literally "sandwiched" between the play head and the pressure pad.
